Pharmaceutical products are indispensable for improving health outcomes. we propose that a pharmaceutical system consists of all structures, people, resources, processes, and their interactions within the broader health system that aim to ensure equitable and timely access to safe, effective, quality pharmaceutical products and related services that promote their appropriate and cost-effective use to improve health outcomes (Tamara Hafner et all - Health Policy and Planning , 2016, 1–13). Apotheker in close collaboration with Management Sciences for Health (MSH) has extensively worked in these areas to improving access and strengthening the pharmaceutical system.
PUBLIC HEALTH RESEARCH
Our activities in public health research are geared to generate evidence to inform the delivery of health services intended to improve the health of the public and reduce inequalities in health. Our scope is multi-disciplinary and broad, covering a wide range of interventions that improve public health. Apotheker has accumulated sufficient experience in this areas of research.
HEALTH CARE SERVICES
To compliment our work in pharmaceutical systems strengthening and public health, Apotheker collaborated with MSH carries out various search activities in the area of improving management of childhood illnesses targeting reduction of child mortality by researching the link among health care providers at community level (CHCW and ADDOs) and how to strengthen the referral system from that level to save lives of mothers and critically ill children.
DEVELOPMENT OF STRATEGIES & CONCEPTS
To make use of the research findings, Apotheker develops concepts and strategies for interventions to address the issues identified in the research to improve health services.
